WHEN: JACKO WACKO MUSIC FESTIVAL / WHERE ELC AND EDM UNITE!

JACKO WACKO MUSIC FESTIVAL / WHERE ELC AND EDM UNITE!
I remembered during my student days few years ago, college fairs and org celebrations just happen within the school grounds. But now ENGLICOM (or ELC) levelled up and celebrated their 50th anniversary by being DLSU Manila's biggest and first ever music festival, which took place at Circuit Makati last January 25th! Yup, it was open even to non- DLSU students.

One of the project heads, Johann Tiu described ENGLICOM as the only and the best Filipino Chinese organization in DLSU. If you're also wondering why the theme 'Jacko Wacko', he shared that the idea came from just random brainstorming and festival name searching. Not at all related to Michael Jackson, the name Jacko Wacko did gave a good impression to festival goers!

I was greeted with big smiles upon reaching the registration booth. Got myself stamped to VIP area and walked my way inside EDM heaven. Welcome to Jacko Wacko, the 2 - 3 months in the making college event like no other!

Upon entering the place I was quickly reminded of Wanderland, only this is more of the beats than the band. There was a fashion show on stage but the grounds was also filled with fashionistas just the same.

Ooooh, those huge inflatable slides again! I was able to try it once before and man, it was tiringly fun!

College students went back to being kids by trying the different fun booths giving you that carnival feeling.

What's a college night without the ever favorite beer pong?

Not contented with the usual? Jacko Wacko understands, so they made your beer pong experience GO LARGE!

Some DSLU students also took the chance to put up their bazaars to support the event.

After all the games and shopping, it is now the perfect time to munch on good food from some of Jacko Wacko's concessionaires...

or probably gather your friends to grab some happy selfie as souvenir!

Now for the main reason why we're all here anyway! Jacko Wacko in partnership with EDM Philippines fulfilled its promise of giving us a night of raving, non stop beats and dance music.

It was around 10pm when people started getting near the stage / VIP area to finally party!

A musician by heart, Luigi Guzman together with Regina Reinoso aka Kiss The DJ spin and sang with the crowd!

A crowd favorite, Tomasian Jared David still had the party goers asking for more even after already doing an extra quick set. Naks!

The fluffy hair while dancing to Bruno Mars' Treasure, this is what I definitely remember with Driven Manila DJ finalist Paul Caranto!

A familiar face for being a resident DJ at Consulado, a bar & lounge very near my office, Arjay Parian also showcased some DJ dance moves while spinning! Look how he wore his DLSU top as support to the night's event.

I was also able to say hi to Jared and Karen at the EDM Philippines booth! They're collectively known as Curse and Bless, a duo producer and DJ ensemble. Jared Celemin is also the founder of EDM Philippines.

Hello Pink Floyd and Ramones!

Other DJs who performed for Jacko Wacko, which started from 3pm up till 3am, are: Raphael Carbonell, Edleen Lim, ROLF M, 7EPH, Katsy Lee, DMA and Mikhail Ignacio.

Whew, Jacko Wacko was indeed a success! With all the free booze, activities, contests and good music, the ticket price's all worth it! I am impressed with the people from ELC, the students behind Jacko Wacko, for putting up an ambitious event and running it smoothly. I also have to take note how courteous their students are, consistently smiling and very much willing to accommodate your needs. Good job guys!

When asked if they're planning to do another big event such as Jacko Wacko, Johan said that if everything goes well, then they'll surely do it again next year. Hmm... well I think I am expecting another one for 2015!
