WHEN: SONY'S BAMBOO AND ELY BUENDIA SINGING FOR ME AT THE FIRST SILENT CONCERT IN THE PHILIPPINES

SONY'S BAMBOO AND ELY BUENDIA SINGING FOR ME AT THE FIRST SILENT CONCERT IN THE PHILIPPINES

First I was serenaded by Bamboo then followed by Ely, at the Rockwell Tent just them and me for Sony Philippines Music Deserves Respect's (MDR) campaign staging the first ever silent concert in the country! Their voices straight to my ears, all in silence, just that intimate concert moment with the two rock icons.

Then I put down my Sony headphones, and sensed reality. I was with celebrities, media consumers and music lovers altogether experiencing what seems to be an exclusive recording studio for your ears only. This silent concert allowed attendees to clearly hear every single instrument present on stage through the high quality audio directly delivered by the Sony headphones.

It was raining when I arrived, people are coming in already while I was there at the media registration seeing familiar faces from the ever kind people of Ogilvy, the agency handling the MDR campaign. I met them during the reveal of Sony MDR High Resolution Audio Series with Bamboo, and now I am finally on the last stage of the silent concert promotion.

I joined the cool group of Sony Singapore, trying to understand their Chinese language whenever they forget to talk in English, lol!

Sony displayed cool art installations of iconic music logos and figures, together with demo units of their MDR headphones

Those without earphones or headphones can line-up to borrow one (just not sure how much)

Silent concerts are events where music is broadcast through transmitters being picked up by the headphones worn by attendees. Metallica became the first band to play in seven continents when they held a silent concert in Antartica last 2013.

The world's first silent concert by The Flaming Lips

Philippines' first silent concert was opened by the few chosen songs from Southborder's Jay Durias. Performances were held in an enclosed soundproof glass booth, yup coolness!

Bamboo went next, also being amazed with the whole concept, even jesting "Sino ba nakaisip nito? :D". He performed some of his hits like "Noypi", "Tatsulok", "Hallelujah", "214", and even John Lennon's "Imagine".

Bamboo went outside the glass walls

The audience were happily succumbed to the clear audio quality provided by Sony's headphones and earphones.

This 1RMC noise cancelling Sony headphone is one of the best in these series :)

There was also a mini bar at the right side for those who want to buy beer or mixed hard drinks. It was my lucky day because someone random treated me for a beer, kinda regret not saying coke rum though haha!

Got so excited during Ely Buendia's turn. If my memory serves me right, this is the very first time I would see him and hear him live. I kinda have a crush on him back then ;)

He performed some of Eraserheads' hits like "Magasin", "Alapaap", "Ligaya", "Spolarium" (chills!!), one of my most fave "Maselang Bahaghari", and "Huling El Bimbo" as shown in the video below:

The event was attended by some of our music lover celebrities as well!

And just when we thought the best things are over, Bamboo and Ely Buendia went outside glass doors and performed Beatles' "Come Together", this time with our headphones off. It was a solid performance!

I didn't want it to end yet, it's one of the best events I've covered! The audience were truly given a unique concert experience with the new range of headphones featuring Sony’s cutting edge design that provides the highest quality of sound.
