OPM ALL-STARS SING THE PRAYER FOR TYPHOON YOLANDA AND BOHOL EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
Here's another effort to aid the Typhoon Haiyan victims through music, and this time it's by various OPM artists and The Loboc Children's Choir singing "The Prayer" adding to the list. You can help by downloading the song from Smart Music's digital music store SPINNR.
Universal Records produced the video for the cover of Celine Dion and Andrea Boceli's inspirational song "The Prayer" to send a message and help to the victims of the recent Visayas calamities. Last October, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Bohol and Cebu while last November the strongest typhoon ever recorded hit the Visayas area again.
Some of the 23 OPM artists who took part to this charity video are: Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, song bird Regine Velasquez, OPM chairman Ogie Alcasid, Kuh Ledesma, Martin Nievera, Yeng Constantino, Jay-R, Billy Crawford, Nyoy Volante, Noel Cabangon, Anne Curtis (yeah you read it right!), and Shirley Vy, a Tacloban survivor.
Some may wonder, why did they choose this song instead of composing a new one? When Bohol was hit by the strong earthquake last October, The Loboc Children's Choir (which include some survivors) sang "The Prayer" in front of the greatly damaged old church of Loboc, touching many hearts. This inspired Universal Records to start the project.
Make sure to download "The Prayer" through Smart Music's SPINNR, all proceeds will go to the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation's Help.PH.
