WHAT: THE 2013 VIDEO MASHUPS / DANIEL KIM POP DANTHOLOGY, DJ EARWORM UNITED STATE OF POP AND THE OVERPLAYED SONGS OF 2013

Mashups of the year's hits is one thing I look forward to towards the end of the year, thanks to DJ Earworm's annual "United State of Pop" for filling my interest on how cool video mashups are!

But then again, one cannot attain success without comparison, and Daniel Kim's "Pop Danthology" seems to support the statement.

So lo and behold, here are the video mashups to conclude this years' greatest hits provided by some of today's mashup masters:

DJ EARWORM - UNITED STATE OF POP 2013 (LIVING THE FANTASY)

Jordan Roseman or Dj Earworm's 7th United State of Pop, the United State of Pop 2013 (Living the Fantasy), is a mix of the 25 Billboard hits from the top 100. It's kind of downbeat though, as compared to his previous mashups. My favorite is still the United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It On The Pop)!

Dj Earworm although stated to Billboard:
"The ballads seem to be a lot more present than they have been in many years," says Earworm, "and the dance music is having less strong of a pull. And even the dance music that is there is more gentle, like [Robin Thicke's] 'Blurred Lines' and [Daft Punk's] 'Get Lucky,' and not EDM bangers."

Hmm, and all along I thought this year's a push to electronic dance music. Which reminds me... where is Zedd's Clarity? It felt like I heard "Royals" and "Don't You Worry Child" all over it.

(unfortunately you might need to view this straight from Youtube, ugh!)

DANIEL KIM - POP DANTHOLOGY 2013

Racing with Dj Earworm to the million Youtube views is Daniel Kim. His 4th installment of Pop Danthology is a mashup of this year's 68 hits, all in less than 6 minutes (which he made for 180 hours)! Woah! The quantity of the mashup didn't jeopardize the quality as Daniel Kim was able to weave all those songs smoothly. Well, at least for me.

I kept on uttering "hey I like that song!" while listening to the list. Glad to hear a diverse choice of music, from EDM to those songs that went viral this year. Clarity, Get Lucky, Blurred Lines, Wrecking Ball, Roar, Suit & Tie, Applause, Royals, I Knew You Were Trouble and Just Give Me A Reason are just some of my expected songs in the mashup.

CHAD NEIDT - 20 MOST OVERPLAYED SONGS OF 2013

Another Youtube talent is the one minute mashup master Chad Neidt. Here he shares 20 of the most overplayed songs of 2013. I have to agree with most of them, especially with Pink's Just Give Me A Reason. Gosh, I almost hated the song JUST BECAUSE it was overplayed on random stations... and currently having that same feeling with Lorde's Royals by the way.

So there, three video mashups that sums up this year's popular singles. Mashups never fail to amuse and impress me that I am hoping of making my own someday.

Even though some say that mashing up Pop music isn't really hard coz they almost follow the same tempo or they sound alike should better start gathering his materials and experience all those mixing and arranging, plus video editing too. Man it's art and skills y'know!
