UBER MANILA (WITH WHEEL MOBILE) OFFERS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE RIDES

UBER MANILA (WITH WHEEL MOBILE) OFFERS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE RIDES

Uber Manila has recently been everywhere on our newsfeeds for its combat between the LTFRB. The good news is we don't have to erase their app anymore as they will still continue to serve us with convenient transportation, and this time with proper regulation procedure.

The better news is, with Uber's goal to provide safe and reliable transportation options for everyone, Uber Manila moved one step closer to the goal by partnering with the non profit organization Wheel Mobile to provide transportation service to the disabled!

Wheelmobile is an NGO that aims to raise awareness of the mobility, dignity and equality for people with disabilities (PWD). By providing transportation options, the group works to enhance the independence and full integration of PWD into their communities.

For a limited period, Uber Manila is letting people request for wheelchair accessible vehicles from Wheelmobile. The drivers are trained to assist passengers with disabilities to ensure a comfortable and safe ride. Each vehicle can fit two wheelchairs and two additional companions.

How to use it?

They have made the Wheelmobile option available for you, so simply open up the Uber app and move the slider to the Wheelmobile icon and request a ride as normal.

1) Open up your Uber app

2) Select Wheelmobile in the slider at the bottom of the app

3) Pin your location and tap request

4) Wait for your Wheelmobile to come to you!

5) The Wheelmobile option will be available November 3 to 7, between 6 am to 10 pm

What are the rates?

Wheelmobile charges P450 for the first hour (or a fraction thereof) and P7.50 per minute after that. As with everything Uber, all payments will be charged to your credit card or another payment method attached to your Uber account.
